Attack on Hindus by Islamic extremists of the ruling Awami League in Bangladesh: 60 Injured

Dhaka, Bangladesh – Sixty Hindus have been injured in an attack by Islamic extremists of the Awami League in Dhaka. During this attack, Hindus’ homes were demolished, and a temple was targeted.

1. According to the information received, on July 10, 2024, local councillor Mohammad Awal Hussain and his supporters attacked the Miranjila colony, where a small number of Hindus reside.

2. During this time, the Islamic extremists carried out heavy stone-pelting and attacked houses, demolishing them. The temple was also targeted.

3. The injured Hindus have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

4. Attacks on Hindus have become common in Bangladesh. Earlier this year, following the elections in January, many Hindus had to leave their homes. Their houses were burned and looted.
