BJP would secure over 300 seats in Lok Sabha elections : Political analysts predict

Prediction of Prashant Kishor and Ian Bremmer, Political Analyst from the US

New Delhi – With the Lok Sabha election results slated for announcement on 4thJune, the country has completed voting across five out of seven phases. Speculation is rife about which party will secure a majority or more seats from these initial phases. Renowned political analyst and strategist, Prashant Kishor, has weighed in with his predictions. According to his estimates, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to secure more than 300 seats. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 282 seats, followed by 303 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

When Prashant Kishor made his prediction, US’ political analyst, political researcher, and strategist Ian Bremmer also weighed in. In an interview with an Indian news channel, Bremmer stated that the BJP is likely to secure ‘305 seats, plus or minus 10’ suggesting that the BJP could win anywhere between 295 to 315 seats.

Bremmer highlighted that a comparative study of elections worldwide reveals India’s general elections are conducted in a relatively stable environment. He contrasted this with elections in numerous other countries, which have often been marred by various issues and chaos. Geopolitical instability remains prevalent across many regions globally. Moreover, the anticipated trajectory of globalisation envisioned by major international institutions is not currently evident. Politics has increasingly permeated the global marketplace, reflecting significant shifts in global dynamics.
