Voter turnout more than 62% in the fourth phase

New Delhi – The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections was held on May 13. A total of 62.31% voting took place across the country till 5 p.m. The highest turnout was in Bengal. There, 75.66% of people exercised their right to vote, while in Andhra Pradesh, over 68% voted.

In the fourth phase, voting was held for a total of 96 Lok Sabha constituencies in 9 states and 1 union territory. Among these, polling was held in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Voting in Srinagar for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370

Interestingly, after the abrogation of Article 370, voting was held in Srinagar for the first time. More than 35% of people voted till 5 p.m. In 2019, only 14.43% people voted, while in 2014, the figure was 25%.
