Patna (Bihar) – The Gujarat Police have arrested Muhammad Ali in Muzaffarpur for his involvement in a conspiracy to kill several leaders, including former BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma, BJP MLA T Raja Singh, Sudarshan News Editor-in-Chief Suresh Chavanke and Hindu Sanatan Sangh National President Updesh Rana. Investigations revealed his connection to a WhatsApp group involving an individual in Pakistan, as well as Maulana Sohail Abubakar Timol, an Islamic scholar from Gujarat, who was arrested in Surat a few days earlier.
24-year-old Muhammad Ali was apprehended from Sakra in Muzaffarpur around 2 a.m. on 11th May. Following the arrest of Sohail, the Gujarat Special Branch team proceeded to Sakra in Muzaffarpur. Ali’s mobile phone was confiscated by the Police, revealing offensive images of Hindu Deities. It was discovered that Ali would add the contact numbers of the leaders he intended to threaten into a special group and initiate group video calls, through which he issued death threats. He stands accused of conspiring against multiple Hindu leaders and giving death threats. Earlier, Maulana Sohail Abubakar Timol was arrested from Surat, leading to the subsequent arrest of Muhammad Ali.
