Congress leader Mathew Antony threatens Somaiya Trust

Trust had sacked pro-Hamas and religious fanatic Principal

Mumbai – Parveen Sheikh, the Principal of Somaiya Vidyalaya in Ghatkopar, was finally sacked by Somaiya Trust. Following that, Congress leader Mathew Antony threatened Somaiya Trust with consequences of the decision taken regarding Sheikh. He also said that the Trust should not be biased and should stay away from the political influence of radicals.

1. The ‘OpIndia’ website has published news in this regard. It published an expose on Sheikh’s unflinching support for Hamas, usual Hindu haters including Islamist preacher Zakir Naik, and 2020 anti-Hindu Delhi riots mastermind Umar Khalid among others.

2. The posts circulated by Sheikh on social media have been under review and her radicalistic mentality is evident through it. Sheikh had circulated posts that dehumanised Hindus by portrayed them as beggars in front of Arab countries and is opposed to the Shriram Temple in Ayodhya.

3. On 7th May 2024, Somaiya Trust issued a statement announcing the sacking of Parveen Sheikh. In its statement, the Trust said, ‘Recently, it has come to our attention that the personal social media activities of Ms Parveen Sheikh, who holds a leadership position at The Somaiya School, have been starkly misaligned with the values we cherish. Given the gravity of these concerns, and after careful consideration, the management has discontinued Ms Parveen Sheikh’s association with Somaiya Vidyalay to ensure that our ethos of unity and inclusivity is not compromised’.

4. When the Somaya Trust asked Sheikh to tender resignation, she refused to do so on the grounds of freedom of expression. Recently, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had given a statement to the education department of the Government regarding taking action against Sheikh.
