One child killed, two other injured, in the explosion in Hooghly, West Bengal

Kolkata (West Bengal) – A bomb blast rocked the Pandua area of Hooghly District of West Bengal on the morning of 6thMay, resulting in the tragic death of a child and severe injuries to two others. Their condition remains critical. One of the injured children has reportedly lost his right arm. The children stumbled upon the bomb. They thought it to be a ball and began playing with it, leading to the explosion. Coincidentally, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee was scheduled to hold a campaign rally in the vicinity. The injured victims are identified as Rupam Vallabh and Saurabh Chaudhary, reportedly aged 11 and 13 respectively.

On 6thMay, at around 8:30 a.m., residents of the Tinna area in Pandua were startled by a deafening explosion emanating from a nearby lake. Rushing to the shore, they discovered three children gravely injured. The source and perpetrator of the bomb remains unknown. The local community is puzzled and deeply saddened.
