Bengaluru (Karnataka) – In response to allegations of sexual harassment against Janata Dal (Secular) Party’s Hassan Lok Sabha constituency MP and current candidate Prajwal Revanna, the Karnataka Government has announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough inquiry. Prajwal Revanna, who is the grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, has been at the center of controversy following the circulation of over a thousand videos depicting the alleged abuse on social media. The Karnataka State Commission for Women had urged the State Chief Minister to set up a dedicated team to investigate the matter. Meanwhile, amidst the ongoing investigation, Prajwal Revanna departed for Germany on 27thApril with no indication of his return date.

In response to the allegations, the BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) have sought a Police inquiry of an individual named Naveen Gowda. They said there has been a conspiracy to defame Revanna.
