Reuters has reported that religious fanatics in Bangladesh launched an attack on Hindus and Hindu temples. This incident closely followed PM Modi’s departure from there. Modi was in Bangladesh to attend a program to mark the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s nationhood.
Hefazat-e-Islam terrorists attacked devotees who gathered for Namaz in a mosque in Baibandha District of Bangladesh. Twelve devotees have been injured in the attack.
In a fresh violent attack on minorities, over 80 houses of Hindus in the village of Sunamganj were attacked and vandalized by the supporters of Islamist group Hefazat-e-Islam. The attack was planned after a young Hindu criticized Joint-Secretary General Maulana Mufti Mamunul Haque in a Facebook post.
