Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) – Maulana Sonu Hafiz, who sexually abused a 14-year-old girl for the past 4 months, has been arrested. The incident came to light after the girl became pregnant. Hafiz had given abortion pills to this girl. Due to this, her condition worsened and she had to be admitted to the hospital.
The victim belongs to a poor family. Hafiz lives opposite the family’s house and is a maulana in a mosque. He used to invite the girl to his house by luring her with food and drinks and sexually abusing her. When she resisted, he threatened to kill her family.
