President Muhamed Muizzu’s conspiracy to turn Maldives into a radical Islamic country

Male, Maldives – Maldives’ pro-China President Muhamed Muizzu has hatched a conspiracy to turn Maldives into an Islamic country. He wanted to appear like a custodian of Islam, this strategy had helped him when he was in the Opposition Party. Ahead of the Parliamentary Elections in the Maldives on 24th April, he has started wooing voters on the issue of Islam. He has taken stringent action against those who failed to follow Islam rigidly. The Police have arrested 12 people who did not complete the duration of Ramzan Fast. 9 of them were caught from Male and 3 from Atoll. He has banned Christmas celebrations in Maldives and Yoga is declared Un-Islamic.

Muizzu going Turkiye way

According to the experts, the promotion of Islamisation will have disastrous consequences for the country. Maldives is increasingly leaning towards Islamic countries. After taking office, Muizzu’s first foreign trip was to Turkiye. Turkiye has emerged as an important defence partner for the Maldives.

MDP’s stiff challenge

Winning Parliamentary elections is important for Muizzu. He will not be able to implement his policies if his Party does not get a majority. He has a tough challenge from former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s MDP Party.

Editorial Perspective

While Muizzu is trying to convert the Maldives into an Islamic nation, he supports the same China which treats Muslims atrociously. This reveals his hypocrisy.
