Mumbai – Aftab Siddique, a woman from Khar, along with some other citizens have filed a criminal petition in the Bombay High Court to register a case against, BJP MLA T Raja Singh Lodh, MLA Nitesh Rane and MLA Geeta Jain. A bench of Justice Revathi Mohite-Dere and Justice Manjusha Deshpande will hear the matter on 8th April. The petitioners’ lawyer, Advocate Vijay Hiremath, filed this petition before the court on 1st April.

The petition states,

There is a conspiracy of BJP to incite religious riots in the face of elections. BJP MLAs have made statements polluting the religious environment in Mira Road, Malvani, Govandi and Ghatkopar.

This may have an adverse effect during the Lok Sabha elections. This can lead to religious riots. The Supreme Court has ordered that the Police should register cases against those who make inflammatory speeches without waiting for anyone’s complaint; but the Mumbai Police has not registered any crime against the MLAs.

Editorial Perspectives

Provocative statements are made by Muslim leaders. Please note that the petition against this is not demanded by the minority community !

Hindus think that if the pro-Hindu MLAs have made statements about the attacks on Hindu Dharma, like love jihad, conversion etc., and if the court orders an investigation into these statements, the truth will come out in front of society.
