The US is inciting India against us : China

China upset over US’ recognition of Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping

Beijing (China) – After the US sided with India on the Arunachal Pradesh issue, China reacted, accusing the US of provoking India against them. China said, ‘We have the correct approach to resolve the border issue with India. It will be resolved through determination and dialogue.’

The inauguration of the Sela tunnel by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Arunachal Pradesh likely exacerbated tensions, prompting China to reiterate its claim over the region. Mr Vedant Patel, the US State Department’s Principal Deputy Spokesperson, in his statement, affirmed US support for India’s sovereignty over Arunachal Pradesh and expressed readiness to oppose any encroachments near the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Colonel Wu Qian, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence of China, asserted to journalists that the US is fomenting conflict between the two countries, consistent with their historical behaviour. He emphasised that both countries are inclined towards resolving the border issue through dialogue and consultations. Nevertheless, he accused the US of provoking India.
