Shri Tuljabhavani Temple jewellery embezzlement case being investigated in the right direction – Nilesh Deshmukh, Sub-divisional Police officer

Bizarre claim of the Police despite the accused roaming free even after 3 months

Dharashiv – “The search for Mahant Chilojibua Guru Hamroji Buwa, the accused in the embezzlement case at Shri Tuljabhavani Temple, is underway. The District Court has rejected Chilojibua’s bail plea, and now he has applied to the High Court for bail. There too we have presented our case well. Since Chilojibua frequently changes his appearance, he has not been found. Therefore, the Police have filed an application under Section 73 of the Criminal Procedure Code for a continuous search warrant. Hence, the investigation of this case is going in the right direction,” informed Sub-divisional Police office Nilesh Deshmukh to the journalists. (Mahant Chilojibua Guru Hamroji Buwa is roaming free for the last 3 months and the Police say that the investigation is going in the right direction ! Are they saying accused not being found after 3 months is the ‘right’ direction of the investigation ? The public should know when will those who committed this crime be punished. – Editor).

1. We have received detailed statements of the witnesses we found during the investigation of this case. We have collected solid documented proofs in this case. Some individuals have been accused in this matter; however, mere allegations are not sufficient; collecting proofs is essential.

2. In this case, former president of Shri Tuljabhavani Pujari Mandal, Kishor Gangane, has requested the Home Ministry for a ‘Narco Test’ (a test where the accused is given certain drugs to extract necessary information from him) for all the accused. When asked about this, Mr Nilesh Deshmukh responded, “The only accused currently alive in this case is still absconding. We have requested the temple committee for information regarding the other accused. Their names have not yet been provided to the Police. The accused in this case is yet to be arrested. When he is arrested, further investigation will be conducted, and a decision regarding the ‘Narco test’ will be taken.”
