Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Jai Hind slogans coined by Muslims : Kerala’s Communist CM

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Malappuram (Kerala) – The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, has claimed that the slogans ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Hind’ were first raised by Muslims. He made this claim while speaking at an anti-CAA rally here. CAA will enable minority refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh to get Indian citizenship.

1. Chief Minister Vijayan said, “We have seen that Sangh Parivar leaders come and give speeches. They ask the audience to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Has the slogan been coined by any person affiliated to Sangh Parivar ? The name of the person who coined it is Azimullah Khan, who was the prime minister to Maratha Peshwa Nanasaheb in the 19th century. I do not know if they (BJP) would decide tomorrow not to chant the slogan as a Muslim coined it.”

2. Chief Minister Vijayan also claimed that Abid Hasan Safrani, a Muslim, introduced the slogan ‘Jai Hind’. He urged activists affiliated with Sangh Parivar, who advocate for Muslims to leave the country, to acknowledge this historical fact.

3. Chief Minister Vijayan noted that the popular patriotic song ‘Sare Jahan Se Acha’ was composed by Muhammed Iqbal. (The same Iqbal replaced the word ‘Hindustan’ in ‘Sare Jahan se Acha Hindustan…’ to ‘Pakistan’ when he migrated to Pakistan after partition. Why does Vijayan not tell this fact ? – Editor).

4. Chief Minister Vijayan said, “Muslim rulers, cultural icons and officials played a significant role in the country’s history and independence movement.” (Mr Vijayan’s mentality is ‘lie but louder.’ Muslims oppressed Hindus not for freedom, but to divide India and create Pakistan, this is the real history, which Mr Vijayan is hiding. – Editor).

Editorial Perspective

If Chief Minister Vijayan’s claim is true, he should clarify why Muslims in India refuse to chant both these slogans.
