New Delhi – “Don’t blame Islam for the sins of Muslims. Islam is not responsible for their sins,” stated MJ Akbar, Former Minister of State for External Affairs and Senior journalist. He delivered his remarks as the chief guest during the launch event of the book titled ‘Kya Hai Ghazwa-e-Hind Ki Haqeeqat?’ (What is the reality of Ghazwa-e-Hind ?), organised by the Khusro Foundation at the India International Centre in New Delhi. Ghazwa-e-Hind refers to a war aimed at Islamising India by killing infidels. This book is a collection of eight articles written on Ghazwa-e-Hind, compiled, and edited by Dr Hafizur Rahman. Additionally, the four authors who contributed to the book were also present at the ceremony.
The concept of Ghazwa-e-Hind is deceptive and mischievous
MJ Akbar cited references from the Quran, emphasising that it advocates adhering to one’s religion. Considering this, the question of launching an attack on any country in the name of religion becomes unfounded. Furthermore, historical precedent suggests that even during challenging times, the Prophet never advocated for war. Additionally, Islam prohibits the burning of trees. Therefore, the concept of Ghazwa-e-Hind as mentioned in a Hadith is not only deceptive but also mischievous.
Editorial Perspectives
The Muslim community is infamous for many bad things around the world. Muslim intellectuals must delve into the question of ‘Why is this so ?’ and implement measures to address these issues. |
