Allahabad High Court rejects objection raised by the Muslim party !
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) – Hindus will continue to enjoy their rights to worship in the Vyas ji ka Tehkhana of the Gyanavapi. On 26th February, the Allahabad High Court dismissed the petition filed by the Muslim party against this puja. The Muslim side is most likely to appeal against this decision in the Supreme Court. The puja was stopped illegally in 1993. Before that, it would go on uninterrupted. On 31st January, the Varanasi District Court granted Hindus the right to worship in the Vyas ji ka Tehkhana. The advocate for the Hindu side Madan Mohan Yadav had first informed about the start of the worship.

The Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee had argued in the High Court that the basement had been in their possession for a long time. It was a part of the Gyanvapi complex and the district administration started their puja in a hurry as soon as they received the Court order. Hence, this worship should be stopped immediately.
Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal however reserved the decision on 15th February after hearing both sides of the arguments from the Hindu and Muslim parties.
