Shahida’s ‘Ghar Wapasi’, marries Om Prakash in Bareilly (UP)

  • Freed from the ordeal of an alcoholic Muslim husband, Shahida becomes Sharda
  • Sharda’s two sons from the first marriage to practice Hindu Dharma

(‘Ghar Wapasi’ refers to returning back to Hindu Dharma)

Sharda

Bareilly (UP) – Shahida, a Muslim woman, accepted Hindu Dharma on 14th February and married Om Prakash, a Hindu man. She was renamed as Sharda. Previously, she had divorced her alcoholic Muslim husband, with whom she has two sons. These sons too, will now embrace Hindu Dharma. Ahram has been renamed as Rohit and Saad as Rohan. Devout Hindu organisations assisted her Ghar Wapasi.

Shahida was earlier married to a Muslim man in Bulandshahr, who persistently abused her under alcohol influence. As he was unemployed, the responsibility of the household fell upon her. Despite having two sons, her husband’s conduct showed no improvement, leading to continuous disputes and eventually, divorce.

With minimal support from her parental home, Shahida relocated to Ghaziabad and commenced employment. She met Om Prakash there, a fellow employee, who was unmarried. They developed a bond through his consistent support during various difficulties, culminating in Shahida’s desire to marry him.

Om Prakash consulted legal experts and engaged in discussions with Himanshu Patel, an official of the Hindu Jagran Manch in Bareilly, regarding their marriage. The couple was married on 14th February at the Bithanath Temple, according to Vedic rituals. (On one hand we see the religious fanatics who conceal their Muslim identity to ensnare Hindu women, ultimately leading to their killing or trafficking; on the other hand, we see Hindu men who considerately marry distressed Muslim women – Editor).

Will assist those who wish to return to Hindu Dharma voluntarily – Hindu Jagran Manch

Himanshu Patel of the Hindu Jagran Manch said, both husband and wife are adults. Shahida is very happily living with her husband Om Prakash. She said she was under no pressure to marry Om Prakash. We shall assist those who wish to return to Hindu Dharma voluntarily.
