Mumbai –Mumbai – Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde felicitated H.H. Swami Shri Govind Dev Giri ji Maharaj in a function on the occasion of His 75th Birth Anniversary.
Swamiji is engaged in activities related to the protection of Vedic traditions, propagating the teachings of Srimadbhagawadgeeta and is the Treasurer of Shriram Mandir Trust, Ayodhya. The programme was jointly organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak (SSRS).

The inspiring guidance in H.H. Swami Shri Govind Dev Giri ji Maharaj’s fluent speech in the programme held on 14th February 2024, left every devout and patriotic Hindu who was present there, with new energy and motivation. During His guidance, He said, “The Ganges of my thoughts has flowed through the two banks of Swami Vivekananda and Swatantryaveer Savarkar, ultimately reaching the sacred grounds of the Shri Ram Temple. The profound principles upheld by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the indomitable freedom fighter Savarkar played a pivotal role in the salvation of our country. After numerous generations, the Shri Ram Temple proudly stands now. It is now our responsibility to witness our Nation standing tall in this very generation. In my pursuit across the literary realms of the world, I have found no treasures comparable to the legacies of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. If Maharashtra follows the exemplary path set by these luminaries, it has the potential to once again lead the world. Let us collectively embark on this journey to elevate our Nation !”

H.H. Swami Shri Govind Dev Giri ji Maharaj was presented a certificate of honour and a replica of the statue of Swatantryaveer Savarkar, depicted as tied to an oil-grinding mill. Some words about Swamiji are given ahead.

1. The dedicated efforts of Ascetics like Parampujya Swamiji in upholding Dharma are akin to the shelter a banyan tree provides under the scorching sun. In an era marked by intense competition, the guidance of Saints is a source of support for everyone. Through the wisdom imparted by Saints, we find the ability to serve the people effectively. Swamiji’s unwavering commitment and guidance have proved to be valuable assets for the betterment of society. – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

2. While the primary aim of Spirituality is salvation, Swamiji’s spiritual endeavours extend to benefit all. Despite embracing the life of Sannyas, Swamiji has actively engaged in national service. His most significant contribution to the Nation is the construction of the Shri Ram Temple, recognising Ram as the life force of our Nation. Veer Savarkar rightly expressed that when we forget Ram, our Nation faces demise. – Mr Ranjit Savarkar (Working President of Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial)

3. Several discussions were held in connection with Shriram Mandir. The smile on Swamiji’s face was the biggest answer on the issue. We seek His blessings for the establishment of ideal governance, meaning, the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ ! – Mr Ramesh Shinde (National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti)

4. The 75th Birth Anniversary of H.H. Swami Shri Govind Dev Giri ji Maharaj was celebrated by felicitating 75 Saints at Alandi. The importance of Swatantryaveer Savarkar’s Memorial from the perspective of ‘Hindutva’ is the same as the importance of Alandi from the spiritual perspective. I appeal to all Hindus to strive for India to be declared a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. – Mr Suresh Chavanke (Chief Editor of ‘Sudarshan’ News)
