Lahore (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, has alleged that terrorists seeking independence for Balochistan are being funded by India and its intelligence agency, RAW. He made these claims during a press conference held at the Business Facilitation Center in Lahore, stating, “98% of the people of Baloch stand with Pakistan. This is not 1971; Balochistan is not Bangladesh and it won’t undergo separation.” Kakar made this statement against the backdrop of large number of Baloch people are protesting in Pakistan. Kakar made this statement against that background.

Prime Minister Kakar further said that our fight is against armed organisations in Balochistan and not against the Baloch people. Baloch protesters should understand that their families were working against the country. It is a foreign-aided armed insurgency. Let someone fight with ISI money in India, then see what will happen to India.

4 suspected terrorists were killed in an operation by Pakistan’s anti-terrorism department on 23rd November 2023 in Balochistan. It also includes a Baloch youth named Moula Baksh. A big movement has started in Pakistan due to this. People carried out a 1,600 km protest march from Balochistan to Islamabad. The people demanded that the anti-terrorism department should seize the weapons and release the Baloch people who are in their custody. Kakar is also from Balochistan, so he is facing backlash in this matter.

What is the Balochistan matter ?

Balochistan is a province of Pakistan. Its capital is Quetta. It borders Iran and Afghanistan. There are mines of gold, copper, and other minerals in this province. It benefits Pakistan immensely. The people of Balochistan claim that the Pakistan Government is not doing anything for them despite getting so much benefit from this region. The people of Balochistan have been against the Government of Pakistan since 1948. They are demanding independence from Pakistan and running a movement called the ‘Baloch National Movement’. It aims to free Balochistan from Pakistan. In the 1970s, the Baloch Liberation Army was formed. ‘Majid Brigade’ also came into existence in 2011. Majid Brigade’s name has surfaced in the Karachi Stock Exchange and Gwadar attacks.

Editorial Viewpoint –

When Pakistan was formed, Balochistan was not a part of it. Pakistan attacked and annexed Balochistan. The world knows that the people there have been staging protests for freedom for the last 75 years. Calling these protesters terrorists and accusing India of helping them, is nothing but Pakistan’s hatred towards India !

Balochistan is not going to become Bangladesh, but Pakistan is going to get divided into 4 parts in the next 2-3 years. Even though Pakistani leaders are aware of this, they are keeping their people in the dark.
