Swayambhu Kapaleshwar Temple
Nashik, Maharashtra – Placards about the Dress Code for the devotees visiting the Swayambhu Kapaleshwar Mahadev temple on the banks of River Godavari, have been displayed on the temple premises. The Kapaleshwar Mahadev is the only temple in India where Nandi is not installed. The story says that this is the place where Deity Shiva Himself has received absolution from the sin of Brahmahatya. The decision by the temple trustees is receiving appreciation at all levels in the city. Devotees have also given a positive response.
The devotees were upset because of the uncultured behaviour by some people and that has led to this decision of implementing Dress Code. – Akshay Kalantri, Temple TrusteeLately, a few youth visiting the temple were making videos and wore improper dress, which was spoiling the sanctity of the temple premises. Hearing many complaints about it, the Temple administration and trustees took this decision.
