Claim by an American newspaper that 315,000 Russian soldiers died in the Ukraine war

Washington (USA) – The Wall Street Journal, an American daily, has claimed that so far in the war between Russia and Ukraine, 315,000 Russian soldiers have died. The war began on 24th February 2022, and at that time, it is said that 360,000 Russian soldiers participated in the war, which means that 87% of the soldiers have been killed, according to the report.

The report further states that the war has set back President Putin’s efforts to modernise the Russian military by 15 years. To make up for this loss, Russia is recruiting freed prisoners into its army and sending them to war.

Editorial Perspective

The world is aware of the Cold War between the US and Russia, hence, how credible these figures are, considering US’ support to Ukraine, is anyone’s guess.
