PM Modi cannot be intimidated or forced to take decisions against India’s national interests : Russian President Putin

New Delhi – Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised PM Modi once again. He said that, “PM Modi cannot be intimidated or forced to take decisions against India’s national interest”. He also added that PM Modi’s policy is the primary guarantee of India-Russia relationship. Putin was speaking at the ‘Russia Calling’ programme in the ’14th VTB Investment Forum’ held in Moscow. President Putin has also praised PM Modi several times in the past.

Putin added, “The relations between Russia and India are ‘developing progressively’ and PM Modi’s policy is the ‘primary guarantee’ of the ties between India and Russia. To be honest, I am sometimes surprised at Modi’s tough stance on protecting the national interests of the Indian State”.

Past statements by Putin on India and PM Modi,

1. Western countries should not try to create tension between India and Russia. It is pointless to do so; because India is an independent country, which works in the interest of its own citizens.

2. Western countries try to create enemies for every country that does not accept their monopoly; but the Government of India is working independently in the interest of India.

3. PM Modi is an intelligent person. I have good political relations with him. India is developing rapidly under his leadership and it is in the interest of both the countries.

4. We should follow our friend India. India is manufacturing vehicles within the country and using them. We should decide which class of officers should use which vehicles, so that domestically manufactured vehicles could be used.

5. India is a country that encourages companies to come and set up units in India. My special friend PM Modi initiated the ‘Make in India’ scheme several years ago. Its impact is clearly visible on the Indian economy today.

6. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India has achieved unprecedented development. India’s future is bright. Modi’s idea of ‘Make in India’ is perfect for the Indian economy and its values.

7. The future belongs to India as it is the largest democracy in the world. It is a matter of pride for every Indian. Modi is an ‘ice breaker’. He knows very well how to protect the interests of his people. PM Modi is an expert in executing an independent foreign policy.
