Ankara (Turkiye) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has once again reiterated his support for the terrorist organisation Hamas. He said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. Netanyahu should be tried for war crimes after the end of the war between Israel and Hamas. Erdogan made the above statements at a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, an organisation of Muslim countries, in Istanbul.

Erdoğan further stated –
1. Netanyahu is a ‘butcher’ and a criminal because he committed genocide.
2. Israel has no right to speak on humanity as it is guilty of killing innocent people in Gaza.
3. Turkiye has helped Palestine and Gaza in the past and we will continue to do so in the future. Islamic countries should take a strict stand in this regard.
4. The United Nations Security Council member countries i.e. Britain, China, France, Russia and the US are taking a dual role. Presently the Security Council cannot bring peace anywhere and we have many examples before us.
5. After the Israel-Hamas war broke out last month Erdoğan said that Hamas was not a terrorist organisation. Its members are the ‘Mujahideen’ (people fighting for the cause of Islam). They are trying to save their land and citizens.
Editorial Perspective
Turkiye and its President Erdoğan support Jihadi terrorist activities through statements such as ‘Kashmir belongs to Muslims’. Hence, it is not surprising that Erdoğan supports Hamas. |
