Changing the Hindus-by-birth to Hindus-by-karma is possible only through the medium of the temples – Sadguru Swati Khadye, Dharmapracharak, Sanatan Sanstha
Sadguru Swati Khadye addressing the audience
Ozhar (Dist Pune), 2nd December – From ancient times the temples have been the seat of learning. The temples have been the centre for maintenance of Dharma and culture and its revival too. In addition, this is the reason the Kings and rulers built temples and supported the temple culture. Even today in the scientific times, the people have a tremendous attraction for the temples. Today, a Hindu of any caste, group, party, organisation, etc. he/she unites only in the temples. The Hindus forgetting their differences surrender themselves at the feet of the Deity. It is essential that the temples are holding society together. The work of turning a Hindu-by-birth to a Hindu-by-karma can occur only at the temples. The temples are not just centres of worship they are centres of culture and heritage as well. It is necessary to understand the perspective that ‘Temples are important in the mission of Dharma’.
If the Deities are not respected, then even science has to admit defeat – Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
Mr Ramesh Shinde addressing the audience
A recent example of how even science has to accept defeat if the Deities are not respected came to fore when 41 workers trapped in a tunnel in Uttarakhand were rescued safely. Baba Bokh Naag’s temple was demolished while the tunnel work was in progress; but even after 3 years it was not reinstated. Arnold Dix, a tunnel expert from Australia, also surrendered to Baba Bokh Naag, prayed and started his work. Therefore, scientists also had to surrender to God. Article 14 of the Constitution of India deals with equality, Article 25 gives Indians the right to freedom of religion. Article 26 provides for the freedom to regulate religious affairs. In spite of this, the Government is keeping control of Hindu temples by going against the rights given by the Constitution. However, we have to increase the intensity of the fight against this governmentalisation of temples.
*… then the next conference will have to be held nationally! – Sunil Ghanwat, Coordinator, Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh
Mr Sunil Ghanwat addressing the audience
The current Mandir Parishad which is taking place in Maharashtra is currently a State level. 634 trustees registered for this conference and hundreds of representatives are attending it. If the trustees continue with the same zeal and vigour, then the next temple convention will have to be taken at the national level ! A few days ago, some religious fanatics broke into the Sri Kanifnath temple at Guha in Ahilyanagar and beat up the devotees. Earlier, temples had no protection. But now faithful devotees have organised themselves. Hence, from now onwards, all such problems will be solved through such organisations.
We need to Unite to face the Islamic attacks on our temples! – Babanrao Mande, Trustee, Vighnahar Devasthan, Ozar
Mr Babanrao Mande addressing the audience
It is amazing that all devotees have gathered under one roof. A temple literally means ‘Devalay’ or the place where God resides. Hence, we have a big responsibility in our hands. Hindu traditions and cultures are preserved through temples. In future, we will have to unite against the Islamic attack on the temples. Hence, all the devotees working towards protecting temples should understand and help each other.

Message of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharya, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Dakshin Peeth, Nanijdham for Mandir Parishad
Organisation of this conference can significantly contribute towards uniting Hindus ! – Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharya, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Dakshin Peeth, Nanijdham
We were invited to the second ‘Maharashtra Mandir Nyas Parishad’. For that, we congratulate you on behalf of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Dakshin Peeth, Nanij. We are confident that the organisation of this conference can significantly contribute towards uniting Hindus in the present state. The topics selected for discussion in this conference in order to unite Hindus should be discussed in detail and decisions should be taken unanimously. The Hindu temples and their trustees have been kept under control by the Government by appointing administrators. This is wrong. Hindu temples, muths and ashrams should be given to the respective trustees or devotees to control. For this purpose, all the spiritual and religious organisations should come together and fight. They all should oppose this injustice by doing constructive and organisational work. In order to propagate this agenda, devotees, various sects, priests of temples, trustee groups, well-wishers of Hindu Dharma etc. should be connected to this work. Thus, spreading awareness about this is important.
1. Dress code is absolutely necessary to maintain the sanctity, sanskars, culture and spiritual importance of Hindu temples in India. Wearing short clothes in sacred places like temples is not our culture. The dress code should be decided considering everyone’s opinion. The dress code should not be old-fashioned, but it should also not cause shame in the minds of the devotees under the pretext of ‘fashion’. The dress code that is finalised should be followed by the management of all the temples, ashrams and muths.
2. It is the need of the hour that all God-loving people unite to protect the traditions of Hindu temples and ancient religious institutions, as well as to oppose the anti-religion laws. Hindus immensely need the education of Dharma. Education of Dharma should guide on the social, spiritual and scientific perspectives behind Hindu customs, vratas, traditions and festivals. A code of Hindu rituals should be created and maintained across temples, muths and ashrams.
3. All the Hindu sects, temples, muths and ashrams should realise the need to protect Hindu Dharma in current times and unite to preserve and grow it. The blessings of Peetha’s Deity shall be with you in this work. We should not ignore the slogan ‘Hindu Dharma is in danger and Hindus must unite’. The happiness of Hindus lies in acknowledging this. As I am unable to attend the programme due to a pre-decided schedule; I am sending blessings to you through this message.
