Washington DC (USA) – The Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Department of Defence, has issued a new directive mandating readiness to use nuclear weapons within just 2 minutes. According to this order, the use of nuclear arms must begin within two minutes or even less upon receiving command. The US is currently engaged in the development of the dangerous ‘B61-13’ nuclear bomb, expected to be ready by 2026. According to a report, this bomb is 24 times more powerful than the one dropped on Hiroshima, with a yield of 360 kilotons.
The Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff has issued this directive under the title ‘Emergency Action Message’. The order states that within two minutes or less, the command, control, and communication process for nuclear deployment must be initiated. The Sandia National Laboratories is developing the B61-13 bomb. They state that the bomb is being designed in consideration of modern threats, aiming to intimidate enemies and reassure allied nations.
