Claim made by Union Minister and Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar

Kolkata – Union Minister and Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar has alleged, citing victims, that the call to incite riots in Murshidabad was made through mosque loudspeakers. He stated that if the BJP comes to power in the state, the use of any religious place to incite violence would be strictly prohibited. Majumdar made these remarks while speaking to the media after meeting with the Director General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal.
Popular Front of India active in Murshidabad
Sukanta Majumdar has claimed that the Popular Front of India (PFI) is active in Murshidabad. (Despite being banned, the organization continues to operate secretly — a matter of shame for the police. – Editor) He also pointed out that so far, no arrests have been made in connection with the riots. Majumdar further stated that Hindu victims of the violence have come to Kolkata to share with the world what transpired in Murshidabad.
Editorial PerspectiveThis used to happen in Kashmir as well. Hence, it is now necessary to issue a nationwide order to remove loudspeakers from all mosques. The Union government must take action in this regard. |
