If you are accusing India, then provide evidence; we will investigate

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar

London (Britain) – While speaking in a programme External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar reiterated that Government of India does not deny the need to investigate the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar; but Canada has alleged the role of Indian security agencies in the murder, hence, it must present evidence to support their claim. While making accusations against India, evidence should also be given. We are not rejecting the investigation.

Dr S Jaishankar said that we have told Canada about this. We believe that extreme political views supporting separatism, including through violent means, are being given a place in Canadian politics. Such people are in Canadian politics. They are given freedom to express their views. Although there is freedom of expression, it comes with some responsibility. If such freedom is misused and also misused for political purposes, it would be very wrong to tolerate. If you have reason to make such allegations, please share the evidence with us. We do not refuse to explore; but they have not done anything like that.
