Udhayanidhi is entitled to his views on Sanatan Dharma : Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan’s inane post on X

 

Chennai – Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan came in defence of Tamil Nadu Minister and CM MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin who is facing ire for his provocative statements against Sanatan Dharma with a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Kamal Haasan said that Udhayanidhi Stalin is entitled to his views, and denounced the ‘twisting of his words’ and threats directed toward the latter for comparing Sanatan to a disease.

Kamal Haasan went on to say, “The hallmark of a true Democracy is the ability of its citizens to disagree and engage in continued discussion. History has repeatedly taught us that asking the right questions has led to important answers and contributed to our development as a better society”. (Why doesn’t Kamal Haasan ever encourage open discussion when someone expresses views against Islam and faces threats of ‘Sarr Tan Se Juda’ (Decapitation) ? Why has Haasan not uttered a single word and remained silent on cases like the life-threat to Nupur Sharma and Kanhaiyalal’s beheading ? – Editor)

• Udhayanidhi’s party and the ideology passed down by his grandfather (Karunanidhi), have consistently opposed principles of Sanatan Dharma. DMK has pursued a political agenda in Tamil Nadu based on this ideology. Those who go against the principle of ‘Sarvadharmasamabhav’ should not be given the right to pass hateful comments on Sanatan Dharma.
• DMK leaders and members are spewing venom against Sanatan Dharma because they feel that how-soever low they stoop, no one can oppose them. By now, they should have been put behind bars !
