Srinagar (J&K) – Srinagar Police has arrested Deputy Suprintendent of Police Sheikh Adil Mushtaq on charges of aiding and abetting jihadi terrorism and corruption. After raiding his house, Sheikh tried to escape but he was arrested.
Sheikh Adil had advised Mujammil Zahoor, a jihadi terrorist, on what to do to avoid arrest. These two were in regular contact with each other. Sheikh Adil had also taken Rs 5 lakh from Muzammil Zahoor. Sheikh Adil also tried to deceive the Police officer who was interrogating Zahoor. Sheikh had opened a bank account using forged documents. Money for terrorism was collected in that account.
