
Bengaluru (Karnataka) – An incident involving the forced removal of the Janivara, a sacred thread traditionally worn by Brahmins and red thread which is tied at the wrist. The state examination authority is conducting the CET exam. On 16thApril 2025, Hindu students were asked to remove religious symbols like Janve, Red thread, etc. at the examination center in the city. This action has been condemned by K.E. Kantesh, convener of Rashtrabhakt Brigade. Forcing Hindu students to remove religious symbols is condemnable, Mr Kantesh said. He has warned that ‘if the authority continues to remove religious symbols of Hindu students, agitation is inevitable’.
