‘Bharat’ was written in Roman letters on Prime Minister Modi’s nameplate
‘The place where Prime Minister Modi sat for the G20 summit, the name plate read ‘Bharat’ written in the Roman Script. Till now the name plate used to read ‘India’, this was the first time ‘Bharat’ has been used on the name plate in the Roman script. From this we can understand that the Union Government wants to promote “Bharat’ instead of ‘India’. The invitation to the dinner given to the Heads of the delegate countries by President Draupadi Murmur read ‘President of Bharat’. Till now the invite used to read ‘President of India’.
The salient points mentioned by Prime Minister Modi’s speech
1. The slogan ‘sab ka sath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas, sab ka prayas’ is the directive principle for all
This period in the 21st century is important for giving new direction to the world. We are faced with issues and challenges for numerous years and people are looking expectantly at us for finding solutions to them. Let us responsibly move forward keeping in mind to keep the solutions humanity centric. For this let the slogan ‘sab ka sath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas, sab ka prayas’ as our guiding force.
2. More than 200 meetings in the countries 60 cities for the G20 summit
The Presidency of G20 by Bharat has been a symbol of inclusiveness within the country and outside the country. More than 200 meetings were held in 60 cities of the country for the G20 summit.
3. Will have to move towards finding solutions to the challenges
We will have to move to find solutions for the challenges facing us now and our future generations; be it the surge and fall of the world economy, or the north south divide, or the east west divide, management of food, fuel and fertilizers in the world, terrorism and cyber security, or health and energy and conservation of water.
4. 2,500 years ago India had given a message for the good of mankind
There is a column standing some distance away from the place we all are gathered today. On it there is a message which reads, ‘Mankind’s welfare and happiness should always be a certainty’. This message was given by the land of Bharat to the world 2,500 years ago. Prime Minister appealed to the delegates that they should begin the G20 summit keeping this message in mind.
India and 8 more countries agree to the economic corridor for the future
A very important decision has been taken in the G20 summit. An unanimity in making an economic corridor between the US, some European countries, Middle-Eastern countries and India. Prime Minister Modi gave the information that an agreement of building an economic corridor between US, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Bharat. This will be the route for trade between these countries. These nations will be joined to each other through railway and ports. China is building such a corridor too. This new corridor is seen as a response to China’s corridor. Many countries including Bharat are opposing China’s corridor.
G20s unanimous consensus on the joint leader’s declaration of the Summit
A great win of India’s diplomacy : Mentioning the Ukraine war while avoiding speaking about Russia
On the first day of the G20 summit there was a unanimous consensus for the leaders Declaration. Prime Minister Modi as the President of the G20 gave this information before beginning the 2nd session of the day. The declaration was passed unanimously. The world was discussing whether such a declaration would be passed or not. There was a doubt, because a declaration was not passed last year in the previous summit. In it is mentioned ‘This is not an Era for war’. While speaking about the war mentioning Russia was avoided. It is being said that in this way India avoided hurting its Russia friend nation. Passing of the Joint declaration is a feather in India’s cap. It is being said that it is the victory of India’s diplomacy. US and the European countries were putting pressure, that ‘Russia should be censored with harsh words for the Ukraine war’. India’s success was being able to make them give way and speak about the Ukraine war without mentioning Russia. China has given its approval to this.
In this declaration all kinds of terrorist activity have been condemned. While ‘Ukraine’ has been mentioned 4 times, ‘terrorism’ has been mentioned 9 times in this declaration.
China commends India’s organisation of the G20 summit : While it criticises US
China has appreciated India’s organisation of the G20 summit. China’s President Xi Jinping did not attend the Summit. China’s official mouthpiece ‘The Global Times’ wrote about the G20. According to messages released by US media, US President Joe Biden is ready to propose a program providing an alternative to China to developing countries at the G20 summit, and the US and Western countries will force the G20 to condemn Russia by threatening to refuse to issue a joint statement. The US and the West want to woo India hard in order to confront China. However, this behaviour doesn’t seem supportive of India, but rather stirs up trouble for the country. Now, the US and the West have shown a gloating attitude over some geopolitical divergences, including those between China and India. They want to see deeper division and even fights. Such an unhealthy mindset is the archenemy of global cooperation mechanisms, including the G20.
