Stockholm (Sweden) – The burning of copies of the Quran has continued to take place in Sweden. Now violence has erupted in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city, after burning of the Quran. Salwan Momika burnt a copy of the Quran while protesting against Islam in Rosengard, Malmo. This led to arson and stone pelting in many places. Many cars and buildings were damaged in this violence. Police tried to stop the protestors, and have arrested three people in this case. Senior Police officer Petra Stankula said, ‘We respect people’s sentiments, but no one is permitted to carry out violence’.
