India should be changed to Bharat by amending the Constitution : Harnath Singh Yadav, BJP MP

New Delhi – BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav demanded while talking to the media that the country’s name India should be changed to ‘Bharat’, by making necessary changes in the Constitution. He said that even people should use the word ‘Bharat’ for our country. The energy given by the word Bharat is not experienced in the word ‘India’.

The points explained by Harnath Singh Yadav

The whole country wants this change, as people are demanding it from all parts of the country. Even H.H. Sarsanghchalak (Dr) Mohanji Bhagwat has appealed to use the word Bharat.

If the word India is taken from Sindhu, the Sindhu River never flowed in Indonesia. The Sindhu River did not flow in the parts where Anglo-Indians lived. There are many countries with ‘Ind’ as a part of their names, without the existence of the Sindhu River in those countries.

The word Bharat is the symbol of our cultural background, our cultural treasure, and our cultural identity; therefore, we should say Bharat. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that we do not want the signs of slavery in Bharat.

Making reference to a Shloka from Veda, Yadav said that the Himalayas are on the North of the ocean, and the land on the South of the Himalayas is known as Bharat while the people living here are known as Bharatiya; hence, use the word Bharat instead of India.

India is a word used by the British as an abuse – Yadav

Yadav said that the British considered us an uneducated community, and they used the word India to refer to us that way; naming Bharat as India. There are, however, people in this country with perverted minds who mislead people that the British came through Sindh; they could not pronounce the word Sindh, and they used to call it ‘Ind’ which gradually changed to India from ‘Ind’. India is a word that was used by the British as an abuse, so it has to be discarded.

Editorial Viewpoint

Hindus and pro-Hindu organisations should unitedly demand, that while changing the name of this country from India to Bharat, declare it as a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. It will stop people from saying anything against Sanatan Dharma.
