OCCRP funded by anti-India billionaire George Soros and Ford Foundation

New York (US) – Allegations of financial misconduct within the Indian industrial conglomerate Adani were initially raised by the US-based Hindenburg Research institution. These claims had a notable impact on the Adani Group’s stock value. The Union Government, however, clarified a few months ago that these allegations lacked a solid foundation. Presently, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) has declared its intent to uncover financial irregularities involving major corporate entities in India.

This international network of investigative journalists is dedicated to revealing instances of crime and corruption. Funding for the OCCRP reportedly comes from the Open Society Foundation, led by billionaire George Soros, who has been critical of India, as well as other entities such as the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, which have also expressed concerns related to India. The organisation’s objective is to safeguard people from deception and ensure the preservation of their rights. According to reports from the ‘PTI’ news agency, the OCCRP is collaborating with various institutions in India to publish research findings that could shed light on the ownership structure of Indian corporations and foreign investments.
