Surgical strike carried out by Indian Army in Pakistan : Pakistan throws tantrums

The Indian Ministry of Defence denied the allegations

New Delhi – According to a Hindi daily newspaper, on the night of 19th August, India entered the Pakistan border and carried out a & ‘Surgical Strike&’. A group of 12 and 15 commandos of the Indian Army’s Special Forces crossed the Line of Control (LoC) at night in the Tarkundi sector of Rajouri and Bhimber Gali of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. In Kotli District, they destroyed four terrorist launching pads after advancing about 2.5 km into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), killing at least 7-8 terrorists. However, the Union Ministry of Defence denied such action and said that no such ‘Surgical Strike’ has taken place. However, India has thwarted the attempts of terrorists to
infiltrate into India from Pakistan.

According to the Ministry, a group of terrorists were trying to infiltrate into the Balakot sector of Jammu and Kashmir. On the morning of 21st August, Indian soldiers noticed that terrorists were trying to cross the LoC, taking advantage of the inclement weather and poor visibility. At this time, the soldiers opened fire in large numbers. At least 1 terrorist was killed on the spot while other terrorists retreated. After this, the soldiers started a search operation. During this time, one AK-47, two magazines, two grenades, 30 live cartridges and medicines manufactured in Pakistan were seized.

Editorial viewpoint

Even if India conducts a ‘Surgical Strike’ tomorrow, Pakistan cannot respond. To eliminate
infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan, it is more important to eradicate Pakistan completely
rather than conduct a ‘Surgical Strike’.
