Climate crisis with rising global temperatures : Disaster in Continents of America, Europe and Africa

Rome (Italy) – The problem of rising temperatures is becoming more severe with the fast changes in climate across the world. After a severe heat wave in North India, ninety people have lost life now due to heavy downpours while people in other Continents viz. America, Europe, and Africa are suffering due to heat. New records of rise in temperatures are created.

Severe heat affects 11 crore citizens in the US

In the last sixteen days, from California to Texas, US, are facing extremely high temperatures. One-third of the US population is, therefore, badly affected due to the heat. The present temperature of ‘Death Valley’ in California, one of the hottest places in the world, is 48 degrees Celsius, and it is likely to go up to 54 degrees. Many forests have caught fire in Canada due to heat, and 2.5 crore acres of land has been burnt down so far.

Forecast of highest temperature in Rome (Italy)

In Italy, a European country, heat has created new records. The Government has issued a ‘red alert’ in sixteen cities, including Rome, Bologna, and Florence. The Weather Department has warned people to be ready to face the highest temperature of the time. The temperature- forecast says the Capital City of Rome may have a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius on 17th July 2023 while it can rise up to 43 degrees on 19th July 2023. 40.5 degrees has been the highest temperature recorded in Rome so far in August 2007.  The temperature can rise to 48 degrees in the Mediterranean islands of Sardinia and Sicily, which can be the highest temperature in Europe so far. France is likely to face drought due to heat waves. It is predicted that the rise in temperatures from 18th July will break all earlier records. The temperature in Spain is more than 40 degrees Celsius in the last few days.

Morocco in Africa, hugely affected due to heat !

New records of severe heat are created in the North African country, viz. Morocco. The temperature was 47 degrees in many regions on the 15th and 16th of July 2023. The temperature has risen 15 days earlier than expected, therefore, scientists have expressed concern. There is a water shortage in Jordan and the situation has worsened due to forest fires in Ajloun jungles. Jordan’s Government had to use 214 tons of water to extinguish the fire. The Tigris River in Iraq has dried up, and the temperature is predicted to go up to 50 degrees Celsius.
