Effect of skyrocketing tomato prices 

Hassan (Karnataka) – Tomato prices in the country are at an all-time high. Tomatoes are sold at Rs 100 to 150 per kg. Against this backdrop, a farmer woman of Goni Somanahalli village in Hassan District of Karnataka alleged that tomatoes worth Rs 2.5 lakh were stolen from her farm. This woman had grown tomatoes on her 2 acres of land. She planned to sell the harvest in the Bangalore market. But before that, those tomatoes were stolen. A complaint has been lodged with the Police in this regard.
