Family of the victim accused Trinamool Congress for the killing
Kolkata – Panchayat elections are underway in Bengal, against the background of which, violence is being carried out in the State. On 29th June, the dead body of the BJP booth (central) president was found hanging in his house in Paschim Medinipur. The victim is identified as Deepak Samant (35). Samant’s family has alleged that Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Malik Maiti and his supporters were threatening to kill Samant.
Ghatal District president of BJP Tanmay Das said that recently Deepak Samant was accused of working against BJP. That is why he was prevented from campaigning for BJP in panchayat elections. Yet, TMC leaders were harassing him, even threatening to kill Samant’s wife.
TMC has denied the allegation of killing Deepak Samant, and its leader Abu Kalam Bux said this allegation is completely false. BJP is trying to politicise every death. It tries to find the dead body like a vulture. Police officials are investigating the case and soon the truth will be revealed.
