Take action against slaughtering goats in a residential building without permission

Mumbai – The Bombay High Court directed the Mumbai civic body( BMC) to ensure there is no illegal goat sacrifice on the occasion of Bakri Eid without permission. Goats had been brought to a building in Mira Road for the occasion of Bakri Eid. To which the Hindu and Jain families objected. The Jains filed a petition to the Mumbai High Court. This matter was heard by the Court on 28th June. The Bombay HC has given the order to the State Government and the Municipality of Mumbai that action be taken against those who have killed the goats in the building without Permission.

‘Mumbai Police should investigate the building area. If necessary, employ security in the building’ directed the Court. The Jains stated that 60 goats were brought in the building by the Muslims. On the protest by the Hindus and Jains on the goats being brought into the building the Police lathicharged the protesters.
