Shri Kali Mata’s obscene parody by Defense of Ukraine

Shubhangi Sharma, a journalist of ‘Network 18’, protests in strong words

The intention underlying display of this image is not to hurt religious sentiments of Hindus, but make them comprehend the denigration –  Editor, Sanatan Prabhat

New Delhi – Defense of Ukraine has made an obscene parody of the Hindu Deity Shri Kali Mata on its official Twitter account. The Defense of Ukraine’s Twitter account tweeted a picture, captioning it as a ‘Work of art’. On the left side is a picture of a bomb attack on a city with an explosion from the ground to the sky and the resulting smoke, while on the right side, the smoke is shaped like Shri Kali Mata as a ‘cabaret dancer’. Journalist Shubhangi Sharma of ‘Network 18’ has tweeted that this picture has hurt the sentiments of 100 crore Hindus.

Journalist Shubhangi Sharma said,

1. It is sad to see that the Ukrainian Government harbors such hate and mocks 100 crore Hindus worldwide. It’s unbecoming of a country that claims to be a victim of war.

2. Instead of deriding Shri Kali Mata, Ukraine should seek her blessings to conquer evil. Ukraine will really benefit from this in current situation.

3. This centuries-old hatred of Shri Kali Mata is still there in the minds of the West. It is a symbol of ignorance and bigotry. The prejudice that is deep rooted in their minds will never be eradicated.

4. I hope Ukraine will come to its senses because much of it is still safe.

Editorial Viewpoint

War-torn Ukraine begs Hindu-majority India for help on the one hand, while on the other it makes an obscene parody of Shri Kali Mata. In fact, Ukraine’s ideology has always been pro-Pakistan. That is why it has made this anti-Hindu rant. Hence, it is time to teach Ukraine a lesson.
