Truck inspection causes anger and then the attack : 44 people arrested

Patna (Bihar) – Sand mafia and their people attacked Government officials here on 17th April. In this incident, Mining officials as well as Mining Inspector were chased by the mafias. The Mining Inspector was caught by the mafia and brutally beaten up. Two officials were injured in this attack and they have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police have arrested 44 people in this matter. The video of this incident have gone viral on social media.
The incident took place in Parev village on 17th April around 2 p.m. A squad of Mining Department had gone there for inspection of illegal mining, after receiving information that excess sand was being transported. During the raid, the officials had an argument with the truck drivers and the drivers started pelting stones at them. To escape from it, the officers of the squad started running away, but they were chased and beaten up. The mafias retrieved the confiscated 150 trucks after this attack.
