Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) – 8 Hindu activists, including an advocate, went to meet the Superintendent of Police to submit a memorandum in connection with the arrest of Hindus who were part of a religious violence were arrested. They have been charged with the possession of illegal arms and explosives along with attempted murder and have been sent to prison. The local advocates of the District Court have expressed their displeasure against this action by the Police and have threatened to call out a mass movement against it.

According to a news agency, a group of Hindu organisations led by advocate Chandan Chaturvedi went to meet the Senior Superintendent of Police of Jamshedpur at his office. According to the advocate, some Hindu activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad were arrested from Kadama by the Police, hence, he went to the Police station to submit a memorandum against it. However, the local advocates have expressed displeasure over this action by the Police and have stopped working at the Court and started protesting and shouting slogans against the Police saying ‘That the Police Department should come to their senses.’ (A Police gangster syndicate ! The radical fanatics who had attacked the Ramanavmi processions were let off freely, but the Hindu activists who had come to submit a legal memorandum were arrested ! This is shocking !)

Editorial Viewpoint

If these Hindus were arrested without any valid reason then strict action should be taken against the Police !
