Police arrested three members of a banned organisation PFI in Assam

Arrested members of ‘PFI’

Guwahati (Assam) – The Assam Police detained three leaders of the banned groups Campus Front of India (CFI) and Popular Front of India (PFI) on Saturday. The arrested accused belonging to CFI and PFI have been identified as Zahidul Islam, Zakir Hussain, and Abu Sama. Zakir Hussain and Abu Sama, two radical PFI members arrested in Assam’s Barpeta District on 8th April, will appear before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s (CJM) Court today. Meanwhile, arrested Zahidul Islam is the student body treasurer for CFI. The Police also recovered the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) pamphlet, four mobile phones, and Rs 1.50 lakh in cash from their possession.

Members of PFI participate in ‘SDPI’ !

A report claims that all members of PFI have joined SDPI after the ban on PFI. Members of PFI are now preparing to enter the political arena through SDPI (From this, it is evident that banning not only PFI, but also its political arm SDPI is necessary – Editor).

Editorial viewpoint

The security forces should try to uproot PFI completely rather than just banning them.
