Destroying mountains and forests led to the Joshimath crisis

Joshimath (Uttarakhand) – Reacting to the Joshimath crisis, Puri Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalanand Saraswatiji said the balance of nature should not be altered. He said that mountains, forests and rivers maintain the balance of the earth. However, In the name of development, mountains were broken to make roads, forests were cut down and the rivers were polluted, and the ongoing crisis is a result of it.

The Modi Government at the Centre and the Dhami Government in the State have been alerted about the disaster in Joshimath. Government has formed a committee of experts to investigate the matter. Also, the State Government has banned all types of construction here.
