A police complaint was registered against the film Thank God in Jaunpur, UP

A case of mockery of Hindu Deity Chitragupta in the film

Jaunpur (UP) – In the Trailer of the movie Thank God, a mockery of Hindu Deity Chitragupta is seen. A devout Hindu named Himanshu Srivastava has filed a Police complaint after witnessing the parody in the trailer. After the Police registered a case against the film’s actors Ajay Devgan, Siddharth Malhotra and director Inder Kumar, the Civil Court of Jaunpur will hear the petition on 18th November. When the movie is to be released on 25th October, why the hearing date has been kept after the release, is a question asked on social media.

What is the case ?

In the trailer, actor Ajay Devgan calls himself Chitragupta and talks about the karma of actor Siddharth Malhotra. Devgan’s dialogues are like mocking the Deity. It is seen that half-naked girls are standing beside Devgan as Chitragupta.

Himanshu Srivastava complained that Deity Chitragupta is the Deity of justice. He keeps an account of sins and virtues by calculating deeds. Accordingly, decides should a person be punished or rewarded ? Our religious sentiments are hurt by the insult of Deity Chitragupta in the film.

Editorial Viewpoints

  • Why do we have to file a complaint when Hindu Deities are mocked ? All the Hindus feel that the Government on its own should take action in a Hindu majority country.
  • No action is taken against the rampant parody of Hindu Deities. Hindus feel that their tolerance level is being tested. What if Hindus take the law into their hands ? The Government should think ahead and make a blasphemy law at least now.
