Sixteen individuals died during immersion of Shri Ganesh Idols throughout the country

New Delhi – In many States incidents of drowning during immersion of Shri Ganesh Idols on Anant Chaturdashi are being reported. In Maharashtra, UP and Haryana, 16 persons who go for the immersion have died. 6 youths died in Mahendragarh and Sonipat in Haryana.

In the same incident, 9 persons had been reported as being carried away by a strong current of water; fortunately, 3 among them were saved. 6 along with 4 siblings drowned at different places in UP. 1 casualty has been reported from Maharashtra.
