Christ is the real God and there is no other God or Shakti : Vile words of Pastor Ponnaiah to Rahul Gandhi

Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) – Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Catholic Pastor George Ponnaiah while he was in Kanyakumari in connection with his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. A video clip of this visit has gone viral in which Rahul Gandhi is asking the Pastor – ‘Jesus is a form of God, is it true ?’ On this, Pastor Ponnaiah replies, ‘Jesus Christ is the real God. No other Gods or Shakti exist’. People are criticising Ponnaiah’s statement. Pastor Ponnaiah was arrested last July for making nasty statements against PM Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

BJP has criticised this video. BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that it was not a ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of the Congress, but a ‘Nafarat (Hatred) Jodo Yatra’. Ponnaiah had insulted Hindu Deities and earlier made inappropriate statements even against Bharat Mata. Congress has a history of Hindu hatred.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh spoke against BJP’s criticism, saying that the Party has no connection with whatever is there in the video. “It shows BJP’s uneasiness about the response received to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’; therefore, they are now stooping to low-level politics”, Ramesh said.
