Threat to cut tongue if Tipu Sultan is called a Muslim goon

Shivamogga (Karnataka) – BJP MLA and former Minister KS Eshwarappa had referred to Tipu Sultan as a Muslim goon. This resulted in Eshwarappa receiving a threatening letter at his residence. The author of the letter threatens to cut Eshwarappa’s tongue if he refers to Tipu Sultan as a Muslim goon once again.

There was controversy over the display of plaques honouring Tipu Sultan and Swatantryaveer Savarkar on Independence Day in Karnataka. As a result, Eshwarappa called Tipu Sultan a goon. He also said, “I would like to let the elders of the Muslim community know that I am not saying that all Muslims are goons. The elders of the Muslim community have made efforts to maintain peace in the past. I suggest they guide the youth involved in hooliganism. Otherwise, the Government will act and they will face this action”.

Eshwarappa added that he was not at all scared by such threat letters and called the anonymous coercers ‘cowards’. “I have never been scared nor will I be. But as a member of the Assembly, I have approached law enforcement authorities, and given a complaint to investigate and find this coward who wrote this letter,” he said.

British Government official and author William Logan has written in his book ‘Malabar Manual’ that Tipu Sultan had caused terrible destruction in Calicut. Tipu had demolished temples and churches. Anyone who refused to convert to Islam was killed by Tipu.
