1. Ozil tweeted, ‘Praying during the holy night of Lailat al-Qadr for the safety and well-being of our Muslim brothers and sisters in India. Let’s spread awareness of this shameful situation ! What is happening to human rights in the so-called largest democracy in the world ?
2. Criticising Ozil’s tweet, many users tweeted some videos from Pakistan saying that it was all happening in Pakistan and that he has misunderstood. It is the Muslims in Pakistan who are persecuting Muslims.
Editorial viewpoint
Muslims in India are safer and happier in India than in any other Islamic country in the world, but they are deliberately portrayed as being ‘unsafe’. This incident is one them. The Indian Government should reprimand Ozil and his country Germany for this ! |
