• On 8^th March, women from all over the world celebrate by uniting against their oppression. However, Pakistan’s Minister is trying to enslave women again by asking them to celebrate hijab day. Women organisations, the Commission on the Status of Women, and women leaders from India must raise their voices against this. 
• How come Pakistan’s Minister who is in pain because Muslim women in India are not able to wear hijab, feels nothing about the injustice done to the Uyghur women in China ?

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Hijab is being banned in India. Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri has appealed to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in a letter, to declare 8^th March, International Women’s Day, as International Hijab Day and ban the ‘Aurat March’ which is organised every year on the International Women’s Day in Pakistan.

Qadri said, ’Aurat March’ held across Pakistan on that day since 2018 goes against the principles of Islam. No organisation should be allowed to question or ridicule Islamic values, norms of society, hijab or the modesty of Muslim women at the ‘Aurat March’ or any other event held in connection with International Women’s Day, as these acts hurt the sentiments of Muslims in the country.
